Active wear apparel

Fiber end-use applications include (2) ready-to-wear, active-wear, intimate apparels, inner linings where stretch-recovery, softness, hand, and drape are the key attributes (2) carpets where resiliency, newness retention, stain resistance, and low static generation provide values over currently used materials in some market segments (3) automotive and home upholstery utilizing the easy dyeing, stain resistance, stretch-recovery properties. Within a short period of time since the polymer s commercialization, PTT ready-to-wear stretch apparels (52) and resilient floor coverings had already appeared in the market (since 1999). 

While the depression of plasma and/or RBC cholinesterase may be detected after exposure to very large amounts of carbamates, enzyme activity usually recovers rapidly--within minutes to hours. Hence these tests can be misleading unless one of the rapid methods for testing cholinesterase activity has been employed. A more sensitive and specific absorption test for several of the carbamate pesticides is the measurement of their metabolites in the urine within 48 hours of exposure. Carbamate pesticides are sufficiently acutely toxic that those attending the victim must avoid contact with contaminated apparel or vomitus, and should wear rubber gloves during decontamination of hair and skin of the victim. 

Under OEKO-TEX apparel is classified as class I (children s wear), class II (direct skin contact, e.g., underwear, sleepwear, sportswear), or class III (jackets, coats). For these classes only FRs approved by OEKO-TEX (white list) can be used. Garments without direct skin contact (e.g., jackets or coats) belong to product class III.
