Acids Ephraim Katchalski

Synthesis and Chemical Properties of Poly-a-Amino Acids Ephraim Katchalski and Michael Sela... [Pg.390]

Enzymes were first reacted in Germany with insoluble synthetic particles such as derivatives of polystyrene or of methacrylic acid (Manecke) [23]. They were combined in the famous group of Ephraim Katchalski, in Israel, with synthetic polypeptides [24], then linked to ethylen-maleic anhydride copolymers [28] or included in collodion membranes [20] similar to those used earlier by Sollner [2] to prepare charged membranes. [Pg.422]

Katchalski, Ephraim (Katzir) (pp. 40, 237, Plate 24) bora 1916 in Kiev (Ukraine) Hebrew University Jerusalem, 1951-73 Professor and Head of the Dept. Biophys. Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Rehovot President of Israel 1973-78 1978 Professor at Tel-Aviv University. Syntheses and properties of polyamino acids are linked with his name. [Pg.268]
