As mentioned before for other azolide reactions, acylations can be carried out with polymer-supported azolides as acylating reagents. For example, acetic acid hydrazide can be prepared with a polymer of l-acetyl-4-vinyl-imidazole/divinylbenzene (96 4) and hydrazine (no diacylation occurs when this method is used) [122]...

Treatment of 2-mercapto-4(3W)-quinazolinone (52) with hydrazonoyl halides affords 1,3-disubstituted l,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]quinazolin-5-ones 53 [95H(41)1999]. Hydrazones derived from [(2-methyl-4-quinazolinyl)oxy]acetic acid hydrazide and aldehydes or ketones were shown to give 4-thiazolidinones and pyrazoles under cyclization conditions [95UC(B)537]. 

Reactions of 2-[l-(thietan-3-yl)-benzimidazolyl-2-thio]acetic acid 43a and 2-[T(l,l-dioxothietan-3-yl)-benzimida-zolyl-2-thio]acetic acid 43b with bases (amino alcohols or sodium hydroxide) led to the corresponding salts 44a-h. By treatment of the ethyl esters 45a and 45b, obtained by the reaction of acids 43a and 43b with ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid, with hydrazines, (benzimidazolyl-2-thio)acetic acid hydrazides 46a and 46b were synthesized and subsequently converted into the corresponding dihydrochlorides 47a and 47b (Scheme 16). Salts 44a-h and 47a and 47b were tested as immunotropic compounds <2001PCJ11>. 

Elimination of 4-h ydm y-6-methyl-2//-py ran-2-onc 676 provided 667, one of the final products however, 676 was not found instead, (3-methyl-177-pyrazol-5-yl)acetic acid hydrazide was isolated presumably as a result of the reaction of 676 with hydrazine (Scheme 133) <1997H(45)1833>.

N,N-diallyl-N -acetylhydrazine (DAAH) was obtained as a result of interaction of acetic acid hydrazide and allyl chloride by technique [7]. A fraction with Tb=121-125°C/5 mm Hg, 1,4770 was used in experiments. 

N-[3 -(4-Methy Iphenyl)-1 -phenyl-1 H-pyrazol-4-methylidene] -cyanoacetic acid hydrazide 154 was synthesised in an excellent yield by condensing 3-(4-methylphenyl)- -phenyl-lH-pyrazole-4-carboxaldehyde with cyano-acetic acid hydrazide. This intermediate was converted to the 4-amino-3-aryl-5-[3-(4-methylphenyl)-1 -phenyl-1 H-pyrazol-4-methylidenehydrazinocarbonyl] -thiazole-2(3H)-thiones 155 (Scheme 72), following the method described by Gewald, it involved the reaction of the cyanoacetic acid hydrazide derivative 154 with sulphur and the appropriate aryl isothiocyanate in the presence of triethylamine as a basic catalyst. Cyclisation of 145 to the 3-aryl-6-[3-(4-methylphenyl)-l-phenyl-1 H-pyrazol-4-methylideneamino] -2-thioxo-2,3 -dihydrothiazolo [4,5 -djpyrimidin-7(6H)-ones 156 was achieved by heating the former with a mixture of triethyl orthoformate and acetic anhydride (1 1) [4],...
