Acer campestre

The distribution and mass budget of chemical species in the Oak Forest ecosystem have been studied in Hungary. The principal timber species is Quercurs petraea, accounting for 78% of the wood mass Quercus cents accounts for 22%. The shrubs are chiefly represented by Acer campestre and Cornus max, and the grass by the genera Carex, Dactylis, and Poa. 

The Selva di Callignano is a protected floristic area of about 8 ha located a few kilometres from Ancona (Central Italy). The dominant plants are Quercus cerris L. and Quercus pubescens Willd, which are almost coeval and around 70 years old. In the wood studied, there is an area of about 3 ha covered by vegetation made up of Quercus cerris L., Fraxinus omus L., Sorbus torminalis (L.)
