Accessory lobe

Many pheromone-responsive protocerebral neurons have arborizations in the lateral accessory lobes (LALs), which are situated lateral to the central body on each side of the protocerebrum and appear to be important for processing of olfactory information (86). Each LAL is linked, by neurons with arborizations in it, to the ipsilateral superior protocerebrum as well as the lateral protocerebrum, where axons of AL...

Accessory lobe This anatomical abnormality is rare and without clinical significance. Up to 16 accessory lobes have been reported in a single patient. They are usually located on the inferior surface of the liver, (s. fig. 2.4) Therefore they are generally detected only during the course of imaging examinations, surgery or autopsy.

Often an accessory lobe may contain its own blood, bile and lymph vessels. (12,39)...

Chest Obtain respiratory rate reassess breath sounds in anterior lobes for equality. Palpate chest wall and sternum for pain, tenderness, and crepitus. Observe inspiration and expiration for symmetry or paradoxic movement note use of accessory muscles. Reassess apical heart rate for rate, rhythm, and clarity.

D. melanogaster, PDF is localized in a few specialized neurons which have their cell bodies in the optic lobe and some processes in the accessory medulla of the optic lobe, an area which is known to house the neurons of master circadian pacemakers responsible for daily locomotoiy rhythms [72, 73]. It is from these and a number of other observations that PDFs are thought to be the communicator of these pacemaker cells to spread the message of the biological clock, thus acting as peptidergic neurotransmitters [74]. The PDFs do not affect pigment movement in insects.

Accessory Sex Organs Taurine was present In high concentration (Table 2). The accessory sex organs of the blue crab were the only ones which were readily dissected Into the component parts. The squid again contained an exceptionally high concentration. The concentration of taurine was distinctively different for the three components. Hypotaurlne was present at relatively low values except In the anterior lobe of the blue crab. The other sulfur amino acids also were In higher concentration In the anterior lobe of the blue crab. 

On the left the anatomy is much more constant, the main variation being the number of portal branches feeding segment 4 or accessory branches in theory defining more than two segments in the left lobe. 

The hypophysis (pituitary gland) is an accessory gland of the brain. It consists of two anatomically distinct organs, the anterior lobe and the posterior lobe, and each lobe elaborates several different hormones. A middle lobe (pars intermedia developed to different extents in different animals), produces another hormone. The second part of Table XVIII (Section 1) lists all the different hypophyseal hormones. Many hormones of the anterior lobe are master hormones (Section 1).
