Dr. James N. Parker received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Riverside and his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego. In addition to authoring numerous research publications, he has lectured at various academic institutions. Dr. Parker is the medical editor for health books by ICON Health Publications. 

A few other entry-level jobs entail no laboratory work. They track an orbit remote from the pharmaceutical industry nucleus, but make indispensable contributions to this and other chemical industries and to the community of researchers. For example, the Chemical Abstracts Service employs organic chemists to summarize the world s scientific literature. Academic qualifications span the range from bachelor s to doctor s degrees strong candidates know languages like Japanese, Russian, or German. 

Eric Scerri is currently a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCLA. After obtaining his bachelor s and master s degrees in chemistry he wrote his PhD dissertation in History and Philosophy of Science at King s College in London. This was on the question of the reduction of chemistry to quantum mechanics. For the past ten years Scerri has been a leading pioneer in the efforts to establish the philosophy of chemistry as a new academic discipKne. His contributions have included the foundation and editorship of the journal Foundations of Chemistry as well as the publication of about 90 articles in journals and edited collections. Throughout this work he has maintained a focus on the application of philosophy of chemistry to the field of chemical education and many of his articles have appeared in the Journal of Chemical Education. 

Dr. Bidlack received his bachelor of science degree in dairy science and technology from the Pennsylvania State University (1966), his master of science degree from Iowa State University (1968), and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis (1972). In addition, he was a postdoctoral fellow in pharmacology at use School of Medicine (1972-1974). He received his academic appointment at the University of Sonthem California (1974), served as assistant dean of medical student affairs (1988-1991), and served as professor and interim chair of pharmacology and nutrition (1992). Dr. Bidlack has also served as chairman and professor of food science and hnman nntrition, and as director of the Center for Designing Foods to Improve Nntrition at Iowa State University in Ames, from 1992 to 1995.
