Zygomatic arch

Rotate fetus on its back to examine skull from ventral aspect examine basioccipitals, basisphenoid, incisors, nasals, nasal cartilages, squamosals, tympanic bullae, maxillae, and zygomatic arches and rotate skull to also examine the lateral aspects. 

Examine skull from dorsal aspect cover exoccipitals, supraoc-cipital, interparietal, frontals, nasals, nasal cartilages, zygomatic arches, and fontanelles/sutures and consider findings from ventral aspect. 

Move the ear bars so that the tips are anterior to the ear canals and touching the zygomatic arch to hold the head in place (sec Note 5). Tighten the ear bar screws. Clean the skull with a cotton applicator soaked in 100% ethanol. 

Localized hypertrichosis is found in Chvostek s body type in the form of noticeably bushy eyebrows. It is also, however, found in porphyria cutanea tarda in the area around the zygomatic arch and lateral to the eyes, as well as on the forearm and lower leg, mostly in the form of short, compact hairs. 

Zygoma (two) The temporozygoma articulation forms the zygomatic arch, a serrate suture that allows rocking. 

Mandible The temporomandibular articulation is a synovial joint found beneath the most posterior portion of the zygomatic arch. 

Origin Inferior margin and deep surface of the zygomatic arch. 

Certain areas have a greater tendency for scarring. These include the zygomatic arch, the bony prominence of the jawhne, the upper Ups, and the chin (Fig. 15.20). 

Two-fingers breadth above the zygomatic arch, and two-fingers breadth posterior to the eye commissurae. 

If inserted too close to the external eye orbit, it could be in the orbicularis oculi. If inserted too close to the zygomatic arch, it could be in the tendinous portion of the temporal muscle. 

If electrode is inserted too close to the zygomatic arch, the duct of the parotid gland can be damaged.
