Zirconium arsenides

The zirconium arsenides have a similar stoichiometric range as the zirconium phosphides. Each of the compounds has also the same structure as its zirconium phosphide analogue. The compounds that have been identified are listed in Table V-34 together with their respective crystallographic data.

Formation of SA monolayers of phospholipids [217,242] and surface-active viologens [244, 245] on gold substrates, those of long-chain zirconium-phosphonates on silicon substrates [243], and those of alkanethiols on gallium arsenide substrates [246] have also been reported. 

On the basis of the expected charges on the monatomic ions, give the chemical formula of each of the following compounds (a) manganese(II) telluride (b) barium arsenide (c) silicon nitride (d) lithium bismuthide (e) zirconium(IV) chloride. 

Fission products that are compatible with the uraninite crystal stmcture—the REE, yttrium, neodymium, and zirconium—were largely retained in the uraninite core, the reactor clays, minor phosphate phases, and uranium and zirconium silicate phases (Gauthier-Lafaye et ai, 1996). Lighter REE—lanthanum, cerium, and praseodymium—were partially lost from the reactor. Einally, molybdenum, technetium, mthe-nium, rhodium, and other metallic elements were retained in the metal/metal oxide inclusions and arsenide/sulfide inclusions in the core, and in the reactor clays (Hidaka et ai, 1993 Jensen and Ewing, 2001).
