Zenith

The efforts of the experts from Pivdenny have made it possible for Ukraine to become firmly established in the first three of space powers (after USA and Russia). More than 400 earth satellites developed in Pivdenny have been in space In recent years experts have developed the unique camer-rockets Zenith and Cyclone, capable of taking 4 and 14 tons into orbit, respectively. No other carrier-rockets of this type exist anywhere in the world, so they were selected for the international project Sea Start and Globalstar The NDT experts from Pivdenny have made a great contribution to these development, as practically all the parts and components of the carrier-rockets are subjected to thorough control.

Because of the tilt of the earth s axis by 23.5° with respect to the plane of the earth s revolution around the sun, the north pole is tilted toward the sun on June 22 and away from the sun on December 21 (Fig. 17- 2). At angles away from the zenith, solar radiation must penetrate a greater thickness of the atmosphere. Consequently, it can encounter more scattering due to the presence of particles and greater absorption due to this greater thickness.

By the mid-1930s, thermal cracking reached its zenith in scale and sophistication. An impressive achievement of this strategy has been the construction of three-dimensional structures. Utilizing branched phenylacetylene sequences, double cyclization yielded macrobicyclic arrays 54 and 55 [43]. The zenith of Moore s approach is macrotricycle 56, a freely hinged system with a sizable 36xl2xl2A molecular cavity [44]. 

To our knowledge, no thematic volumes devoted solely to metal-catalyzed reductive C-C bond formation have been assembled. For the first time, in this issue of Topics in Current Chemistry, we present a compilation of monographs from several leaders in this burgeoning area of research. This collection of reviews serves to capture the diversity of catalytic reductive C-C couplings presently available and, in turn, the remarkable range of reactivity embodied by such transformations. There is no indication that this field has reached its zenith and it is the hope of the present author that this volume will fuel further progress. 

The power flux corrected for atmospheric absorptions equals about 1 kW/m2 if the Sun stands at zenith and the sky is clear. This situation is customarily labelled AM 1 (one standard air mass). 

The rare earth oxides of lanthanum, samarium and gadolinium were converted into soluble nitrate salts by dissolving them in the minimum amount of concentrated nitric acid. Then two sets were prepared by adding 2.0 ml of aqueous solution of La(N03)3.6H20 [0.2 M] and 0.01 ml of (n-BuO)4Ti to 25 ml of aqueous solution of Cu(N03)2 [1.0 M]. Similarly, two sets were prepared with Co(N03)3. Same procedures were followed for Sm(N03)3 [0.2 M] and Gd(N03)3 [0.2 M], One set of all these solutions were sonicated under ultrasonic bath (Model - Meltronics, 20 kHz, 250 W) for half an hour. The solutions prepared in normal and sonicated conditions were kept in muffle furnace (Model - Deluxe Zenith) first at 100°C for 2 h and then the temperature of the furnace was raised up to 900°C and calcined for 2 h. The solid composites prepared were then cooled to room temperature and treated as catalyst for phenol degradation.
