X-ray Powder Diffraction XpRD

X-ray diffraction (XRD) has long been successfully used to study various aspects of establishing structures in natural and synthetic polymers. It is the best tool to check whether the polymer and its modified form are crystalline, semicrystalline or amorphous. It is a well-established method for the determination of molecular structure, evaluation of crystallinity and analysis of texture. [Pg.320]

The effect of derivization of natural polymers on the crystallinity of the polymers is well studied [68-70]. [Pg.320]

The X-ray powder diffraction (XPRD) pattern of omeprazole was performed using a Simmon XRD-5000 diffractometer (Fig. 4.1). Table 4.1 shows the values for the scattering angles (° 26), the interplanar d-spacing (A), and the relative intensities (%) observed for the major diffraction peaks of a pure sample of omeprazole drug substance. [Pg.164]

The X-ray powder diffraction (XPRD) experiments presented in Fig. 4 show that well-defined, long-range order is present in the precursors Asi and Usi. The long-range order is less pronounced than in the precursor materials in the hybrid materials Ma, Mu, and Ma-u after the sol-gel step less well-defined peaks are present than for the precursor and the average peak width increases, which indicates smaller domains in which coherent scattering occurs (37)... [Pg.1698]
