Worldwide Offshore Accident Databank

Worldwide Offshore Accidenf Dafabank (WOAD) is one of the main sources for obtaining offshore accidenf-relafed information for public use. It is operated by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) of Norway. Most of the data contained in the WOAD is from fhe Norwegian and UK sectors and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, and if confains more fhan 6000 events from 1975 onward, including near misses, incidenfs, and accidenfs [3]. [Pg.134]

In this databank, data are derived mainly from public domain sources, including official publications, newspapers, and Lloyds Casualty Reports (UK). WOAD contains data on items such as follows [3]  [Pg.134]

It is to be noted that in this database, exposure data are also provided that allow accident rates to be calculated for different accident and installa-tion/platform/rig types.
