With Cleavage of the Te-C Bond

Ethyl triethylgermyl tellurium and ethyl triethylsilyl tellurium reacted with trieth-ylstannane at 20° forming diethyl tellurium and triethylstannyl triethylsilyl (or -germyl) tellurium.  

Organosilyl, germyl, and stannyl tellurium derivatives were converted on irradiation with laser light at 488 nm, or on prolonged storage, to diorgano tellurium and bis[silyl, germyl, or stannyl] tellurium derivatives.
