With Aziridines or Oxiranes

Aziridinocyclohexanes reacted with sodium benzenetellurolate at 20° to yield the TV-substituted Iranj -2-aminocyclohexyl phenyl telluriums  [Pg.408]

Oxiranes and oxiranocycloalkanes reacted with sodium benzenetellurolate to produce the 2-hydroxyalkyl or tranj-2-hydroxycycloalkyl phenyl tellurium products. [Pg.408]

2-Hydroxydecyl Phenyl Tellurium Under nitrogen, 3.68 g (9 mmol) of diphenyl ditellurium dissolved in 45 ml of absolute ethanol are reduced with 819 mg (21.6 mmol) of sodium borohydride. To the resultant colorless solution are added 2.8 g (18 mmol) of 1,2-epoxydecane dissolved in 10 m/ of ethanol and the mixture is kept at 20° for 15 min. The solvent is then evaporated, the residue slurried with 50 m/ of dichloromethane, filtered through a pad of anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the filtrate is evaporated. The residual yellow oil is chromatographed on a silica gel column (3 x 60 cm) with chloroform/hcxane (1/1, v/v) as eluent yield 5.3 g (81%) pale-yellow oil. [Pg.409]

2-hydroxy-2-methyl-2- ( 3-oxo-4-methylcyclohexyl) -ethyl phenyl tellurium  [Pg.409]
