Wiring Mistakes

If you made a mistake drawing a wire, you can use the following procedure to delete unwanted wires, as well as components. [Pg.34]

Make sure you are not in wire mode. If you are in wire mode, the mouse pointer is displayed as crosshairs. To terminate wire mode, press the ESC key. [Pg.34]

Move the mouse pointer to the segment of wire or the part that you wish to remove. [Pg.34]

Click the LEFT mouse button on the wire or part you wish to remove. This will select the wire or part When the wire or part has been selected, it will turn pink. [Pg.34]

Press the DELETE key to delete the selected wire or part. [Pg.34]


Amounts of heat released in pyrolysis trials were small. Even heats measured at around 130 C, far above the 80"C margin, could adiabatically raise the temperature by less than one centigrade in an hour (6). If a coarse separation is all that is needed, then shaking by hand usually is done. You need to do this only a few times, and you will try to purchase a shaker or find a "friend". The biggest mistake made is to try to force the particles through the sieve. Do not push on the particles, let them fall of their own accord. The screen wire is fragile, and even if not broken, the wires can be shifted, thus changing the mesh in parts of the sieve. [Pg.441]

As with any instrument, calibration is important for thermocouples. Although manufacturers supply accuracy data for typical thermocouples, calibration can be used to check that these data apply to the specific instrument being used in an experiment. The accuracy can be improved by calibrating the specific thermocouple being used. More importantly, a thermocouple calibrator (see Figure 5.5) can be used to check for any wiring problems or any setup mistakes in the data acquisition system. Taking together all of this information, it is now very easy to answer the question of whether it is safe to fly not until some of these risks have been dealt with. Also, we know exactly what part of the system must be changed. In this example, the valve must be closed at launch. A very good and inexpensive solution is to verify that the valve is closed at a mandatory inspection point and have the valve wired closed so that it cannot be opened again by mistake. If this is done, the probability of occurrence falls to 10 and thus reduces the risk to a very low number. [Pg.374]
