Wideqvist reaction

It is even possible to prepare tetracyano-substituted cyclopropanes which cannot be obtained directly by the Wideqvist reaction (Table9, entries 25-28). In contrast to the other entries in Table 9, the base can be omitted because bromomalononitrile is a reasonably strong acid.
