What is a dB

A dB is basically a relative measure of power. As already stated in V.B.l., [Pg.507]

remember from electricity that the power is proportional to the square of the voltage V for a fixed impedance 2 [Pg.507]

that is P=V /R. Therefore, we can also express relative voltages in dB s as [Pg.507]

What about dBm It is a power ratio as already discussed [Pg.508]
