Weight Assignment

Interpretation of F.a.b.-Mass Spectra 1. Molecular-weight Assignment [Pg.41]

Molecular weight assignments for such resins will be dependent on the method used for measurement. Each manufacturer has his own relative scale. In practice, absolute molecular weight determination is not important. The method used must discriminate between resins with sufficient resolution to allow prediction of resin performance in the applications of interest. [Pg.890]

As for (ii), Mendeleev was, as indicated, quite ready to change atomic weight assignments from those accepted at his time to avoid significant discrepancies in his tables. This may sound ad hoc, but in fact, and as we already pointed out, some of these contra-predictions could be independently tested and their success in independent tests played an important evidential role—one which, as Brush allows, there is no reason (either historical or methodological) to suggest was any less significant than that played by the prediction of new elements. [Pg.77]

Pi is the weight assigned to the endpoint assessed, et is the measured effect corresponding to a dy dilution, n is the number oftests/end points in the battery. [Pg.239]
