Water pollution, interdisciplinary

Environmental chemistry is an interdisciplinary subject dealing with chemical phenomena in nature. Environmental chemists are concerned with the consequences of anthropogenic chemicals in the air people breathe and the water they drink. They have become increasingly involved in managing the effects of these chemicals through both the creation of ecologically friendly products and efforts to minimize the pollution of the land, water, and air. [Pg.683]

Environmental chemistry is the science of chemical processes in the environment. It is a profoundly interdisciplinary and socially relevant field. What environmental chemists do has important consequences for society because they are concerned with the effect of pollutants on the land, water, and air that humans depend on for their life, health, and proper functioning. Environmental chemists are forced to break down barriers that have traditionally kept chemists isolated from other fields. [Pg.683]

Water, Air, and Soil Pollution (0049-6979) (1573-2932). This international, interdisciplinary journal covers all aspects of pollution and solutions to pollution in the biosphere. This includes chemical, physical, and biological processes affecting flora, fauna, water, air, and soil in relation to environmental pollution. [Pg.303]
