In this chapter the use of WSNs for the monitoring of various sporting activities of an athlete has been studied, with the main focus on the selection of the optimal wireless communication technology for the interconnection of the (vital) signs and sensors worn by athletes. For this reason, the performance characteristics of various modem wireless communications standards and technologies were presented.
