Video documentation

As with photography, the following rule applies to video shots  

A good document can only be produced from a good presentation  

Therefore, most of the practical tips from Section 8.3.2 apply here also. 

The TLC plate (or any other object) which is to be documented is first displayed on the monitor as a live picture. All the adjustments can then be made until the optimum is reached. The image is then fixed or frozen . A frozen image can then be provided with a captions horizontally and/or vertically, and lines, arrows, circles etc. can be added. The decision by Wiley-VCH to publish an English edition in 1999 was the start of many hectic months for me. To produce the present book, not only had the text, references and market overview to be updated, but also two more Sections describing new equipment had to be included. Documents 4-13 were revised and Tables 21a and 26 were added. The Sections on video documentation were also extensively revised to take account of technical advances in this area. 

TLC coupled with spectrometry and other analytical methods, video documentation, and computer imaging (Chapter 9) quantification by video densitometry (Chapter 10) validation of quantitative results (Chapter 11) and in situ instrumental measurement of radioactive zones (Chapter 13). The fomth edition continues to provide extensive coverage of sample preparation in Chapter 3. We believe that this coverage is unique and differs from that found in other available treatises on TLC. Because of the primary importance of commercial precoated plates, detailed instructions for preparing layers were removed (Chapter 3), and description of documentation by contact printing has been eliminated (Chapter 9). 

Earthquake records can be edited only by authorized compilers. Data compilation must be done at three different levels of generalization (earthquake, locality, and site). Moreover, it is currently possible to upload (i) the pattern of coseismic ruptures as linear elements (previously edited as. kml file), at earthquake level (ii) photographs, sketches, or videos documented a single effect, at site level.
