Vibration Stimulation by Flow Separations

With all types of compressors, limits are set to the compression realisable in one stage. The pressure ratios achievable with employment of LRVPs operating with water require multiple stages with employment of other oil-free compressors. 

With LRVPs, the energy necessary for the compression of the gas and the pressure increase in the liquid are brought into the liquid ring via the blades. 

The pressure difference prevailing between suction and pressure sides continues via the individual chambers. Since the blade areas are separated from each other only by a liquid, the dominant pressure gradient produces a flow via the blade tips. The cross-sectional constriction by the blade tips leads to an increase in the flow velocity and therewith also to a pressure drop. The pressure prevailing thereby at the blade tips can fall below the chamber pressure.
