Vibrating plate extractor

For some applications, instead of pulsed sieve-plate columns, vibrating-plate extractors have been recommended (Rod, 1976). Rod has pointed out some advantages of this type of contactor for the oximation of cyclohexanene. [Pg.107]

The reciprocating plate extractor (D) is a vibrating type developed in the 1940 s. The open perforated reciprocating plate columns consist of a stack of perforated and baffle plates with a free area of about 58%. The central shaft supporting the plates is reciprocated by means of a drive mechanism located at the top of the column. These columns are used in the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and waste water treatment industries and columns up to 1 m in diameter are in service."... [Pg.109]
