Veto threshold

The fourth parameter refers to the veto threshold (14), which serves to ban a solution relative to another solution if the difference between the values of a criterion is too high to be tolerated. A solution is banned if the veto threshold is violated for at least one of the objective functions, even if the other criteria are acceptable. [Pg.197]

A discordance index [/, j is then calculated for each criterion k using the preference and veto thresholds ... [Pg.199]

Softer techniques as outranking aggregation methods (such as ELECTRE and derived methods (Roy 1991)) demand lesser effort, but also require some preference information not always available, such as the coherence of the ID family involved and the indifference, preference and veto thresholds of each ID. [Pg.1643]

The Pareto domain will first be ranked with the NFM. NFM uses four parameters for each objective criterion to express the preferences of the decision-maker the relative weight and three thresholds (indifference, preference, and veto). Table 7.10 provides, for each objective function... [Pg.213]

For each interaction, the energy is broadened following a Gaussian distribution defined by the spectral resolution quoted in Table I. The relevant threshold is then applied, and finally, if any of the interactions occur in the veto the complete event is ignored. [Pg.236]
