Values or Formulas in a Range of Cells

To duplicate a value or formula in one cell into a range of cells, highlight the cell whose value you want to duplicate, plus cells below or to the right of where you want the value duplicated. Then choose Fill from the Edit menu and choose Down, Right, Up or Left from the submenu. [Pg.25]

If the cell contains a number or a text label, the value will be duplicated in [Pg.25]

Cell references are adjusted when you Insert or Delete rows or columns, too. If you Insert a new column to the left of column A in the preceding example, the formula in cell B2, which used to be cell A2, will read =B1+1. [Pg.26]
