Nerve Agents - V Series

V-series agents have never been used on the battlefield. They have been used in a very limited way by terrorists to assassinate individuals. [Pg.4]

A majority of V-series agents are listed in Schedule 1 of the CWC as long as they are within the following limitations  [Pg.4]

O-Alkyl (H or less than or equal to CIO, including cycloalkyl) S-2-dialkyl (Me, [Pg.4]

or i-Pr)-aminoethyl alkyl (Me, Et, n-Pr, or i-Pr) phosphonothiolate and corresponding alkylated or protonated salts. [Pg.4]

VM also called Edemo is a "V-series" nerve agent closely related to the better-known VX nerve gas. Like most of the agents in the V-series (with the exception of VX), VM has not been studied extensively studied. Little known about this compound other than its chemical formula. Since it is structurally very similar to VX it can be assumed that most properties will be similar also. [Pg.94]

Significantly more persistent than other "G" series nerve agents but with a significantly greater vapor pressure than the "V" series nerve agents. [Pg.103]

V-series nerve agents Extremely toxic decomposition products, including S-[2-dialkylaminoethyl] alkylphosphonothioic acids and alkyl pyrophosphonates, may be... [Pg.10]

V-series nerve agents Volatile decomposition products may include SO, NO, PO, as well as potentially toxic organophosphates. In addition, toxic phosphate residue may remain. [Pg.10]

This material is a stabilizer for G-series and V-series nerve agents, usually within the range of 2-10% by weight. [Pg.44]

This material is used to synthesize precursors to V-series nerve agents. [Pg.49]

This material is a binary constituent in V-series nerve agents. It is also commonly found as a decomposition product/impurity from hydrolysis of V-series agents. [Pg.51]

Specific information on physical appearance is not available for this material. This material is a degradation product from hydrolysis of V-series nerve agents. Exposure Hazards... [Pg.93]

Although Nerve Agents are hazardous through inhalation, skin and eye exposure, ingestion, and abraded skin (e.g., breaks in the skin or penetration of skin by debris), the primary risk posed by "V" series Nerve Agents is through percutaneous exposure. [Pg.19]

LC50S for inhalation of "V" series Nerve Agents are as low as 0.3 ppm (10 minute exposure). [Pg.19]
