UV detector test

The detector is switched on and the displays and connections are checked visually. In [Pg.379]

The noise in mm, determined from the printout, is calculated as AU and documented. Setpoint value  [Pg.382]

The detector cell is filled with the anthracene solution. The measuring wavelength is varied between 248 and 254 nm in 1 nm steps. The resulting absorbance is documented and its maximum is determined. As an alternative approach if a scanning detector is used, the UV spectrum can be registered and attached to the documentation. [Pg.382]

If the detector is equipped with a built-in holmium oxide filter, the wavelength accuracy is tested with this filter in accordance to the manufacturer s testing procedure. [Pg.382]

Remark If the automated zeroing after a wavelength change cannot be switched off it is necessary to inject (into the detector cell) first the mobile phase, then to adjust zero, then to inject the anthracene solution, and finally to read off the absorbance. [Pg.382]
