The TMP-based lithium-cadmium mixture, prepared in situ from CdCl -TMEDA and LiTMP (3 equiv), allows both sensitive and inactivated aromatic compounds to be functionalized at room temperature (Table 27.17). It is even more powerful than the corresponding lithium-zinc reagent [67-69]. In the absence of TMEDA, such a reagent proved to be 1 1 LiTMP 2LiCl-Cd(TMP), [138]. [Pg.804]
