United States Pharmacopeia monograph development

The National Institute of Health, Office of Alternative Medicine is setting out to research herbal therapies and other alternative therapies. The United States Pharmacopeia (USP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Herbal Pharmacopeia (AHP) are developing herbal therapeutic monographs. [Pg.81]

Chapter 9 gives an overview of the Pharmacopeia of the United States of America (USP) and its USP-NF requirements for stability purposes. This chapter also discusses the development process for monographs, the goals for the general chapters, and relevant testing used for stability studies. [Pg.369]
