2 Two-phase titration of anion-active matter and aspartate 

Mono- and dialkylsulphosuccinate may be determined by two-phase titration with benzethonium chloride. Materials made by the sodium 

Aspartate and anion-active content can be determined simultaneously by the following procedure, which uses two different concentrations of benzethonium chloride. 

Dissolve a 3-4 g sample in water, transfer quantitatively to a 250 ml volumetric flask, dilute to volume and mix. 

Pipette 25 ml into a 100 ml beaker. Insert a surfactant-sensitive electrode and a reference electrode. Add lOmlM hydrochloric acid. If necessary add water until the electrode tips are immersed.
