Twelve-coordinate compounds stereochemistry

Inorganic stereochemistry deals with central atoms having coordination numbers from two to twelve. In inorganic compounds, it is often necessary to consider not only s and p orbitals but also d and even / orbitals. Isomerism, sometimes similar to that of organic compounds and sometimes different, is common in metal complexes.
