Tris(3-nitroacetylacetonato) cobalt (III) forms dark green needles that do not melt but decompose reproducibly at 198°. This substance exhibits an ultraviolet spectrum in chloroform with 262 m)Li( = 29,400). This chelate is slightly soluble in most organic solvents.
