Triosmium Clusters with Introduced Transition Metal Atoms

TRIOSMIUM CLUSTERS WITH INTRODUCED TRANSITION METAL ATOMS [Pg.70]

The metal terminal ligand systems have been prepared in various ways. Three main methods are briefly described here. [Pg.71]

This route has been applied to oxidative addition of the mononuclear species ReH(CO)s or OsH2(CO)4 to Os3(CO)n(MeCN) or to Os3(CO)10L2 (L = MeCN or cyclooctene). The compounds Os3H(CO)11 Re(CO)5 449) [Pg.71]

An alternative route to Os3Re clusters is to add [Re(CO)s] and H+ successively to Os3(CO)I2, rather than by oxidative addition of ReH(CO)5 (453), but a wider range of compounds in lower yield was obtained Os3H(CO)u Re(CO)5 but also Os3ReH(CO)15 (86) and Os3ReH3(CO),3 [Pg.72]

There is only one clear example of the reaction of Os3H2(CO)10 with an unsaturated ligand leading to a terminal metal group. The vinylidene [Pg.72]
