Triglycyl-glycine

Triglycyl glycine (tetraglycine) [637-84-3] M 246.2, m 270-275°(dec). Crystd from distilled water (optionally, by the addition of EtOH). [Pg.377]

From this compound benzoyl-triglycyl-glycine was prepared by the same series of reactions, and benzoyl-tetraglycyl-glycine by continuing the process. [Pg.25]

This compound was also prepared from benzoyl-triglycyl-glycine azide and glycine ester. [Pg.26]

Carbethoxyl-glycyl-glycyl chloride and glycyl-glycine ester yielded carbethoxyl-triglycyl-glycine ester. [Pg.46]

Leucyl-triglycyl-glycine (o-btomisocapronyl-diglycyl-glycyl chloride glycine ester). [Pg.50]

Leucyl-hexaglycyl-glycine (o-bromisocapronyl-diglycyl-glycyl chloride -1- triglycyl-glycine). [Pg.50]

The biuret reaction is positive with the greater number of the polypeptides excluding the dipeptides. In the case of the glycine compounds it occurs first with the tetrapeptide, but it occurs with other tripeptides. It is distinctly intenser as the length of the polypeptide chain increases, and the colour is also more intense when the carboxyl group is esterified this is especially noticeable in the case of triglycyl-glycine and its ester, the so-called biuret base. The same occurs when... [Pg.57]
