Trifluoromethane sulfenyl chloride

Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (CF3SO3H, triflic acid), the first member in the perfluoroalkanesulfonic acid series, has been studied extensively. Besides its preparation by electrochemical fluorination of methanesulfonyl halides, triflic acid may also be prepared from trifluoromethane-sulfenyl chloride. [Pg.296]

Preparation by reaction of trifluoromethane-sulfenyl chloride with 2,4-dihydroxybenzophe-none in chloroform in the presence of a slight excess of pyridine, first at tO , then 60° for 3 h (80%) [1235]. [Pg.381]
