Later, Chen and coworkers demonstrated that (R)-BTM (23) could be successfully used in the KR of a series of 2,2,2-trifluoro-l-aryl ethanol, affording s values up to 47 at room temperature (Scheme 41.7) [54]. Additionally, they were able to show that the method was amenable to preparative scale, affording both the acylated product and the unreacted alcohol with high ees and reasonable yields.
