Zarapkar, S. S., K. R. Athalye, Titrimetric method for determination of sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, triethanolamine lauryl sulphate and alkylbenzene sulpho-nate by titration with centrimide, domiphen bromide and oxyphenonium bromide using cobalt thiocyanate indicator. Soaps, Deterg. Toiletries Rev., 1987,17rfO), 21-23. [Pg.516]

The titration with alkali measures either the free weak acid or the salt of the weak base. The titration with acid measures either the free weak base or the salt of the weak acid. For example, if this analysis was done on a sample of triethanolammonium lauryl sulphate containing excess triethanolamine, titration with acid to the low-pH end-point would measure the free triethanolamine, while titration with alkali to the high-pH end-point would measure the triethanolamine present as the lauryl sulphate and other salts. [Pg.51]
