Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations

DOT Identification Number. A four-digit number, developed by U.S. Department of Transportation, used to identify a material for regulation of its transport. The number is called Product Identification Numbers (PIN) under the Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations. When used internationally it may carry a UN prefix, but those only in North America have an NA prefix. [Pg.7162]
