Training stress reduction

Train in guided imagery and biofeedback as means of stress reduction. Write at least one positive affirmative statement each day. 

Identify resource material on chemical/biological agents, stress reduction after other traumas, and disaster response services, and enlist the help of mental health professional societies in developing a training program for mental health professionals. The key to success in this attempt will be offering continuing education credits and certification for mental health providers trained in chem/bio attack response. 

There remains the question of whether the drop in load observed at yielding arises from the purely geometrical strain softening associated with a true-stress-strain curve of the form shown in fig. 8.4(c), where there is no drop in the true stress but merely a reduction in slope of the stress train curve, or whether there is actually a maximum in the true-stress strain curve as shown in fig. 8.4(d). Experiments on polystyrene and PMMA in compression, under which the geometrical effect cannot take place, show that a drop in load is still observed. Results from extensive studies of PET under a variety of loading conditions also support the idea that a maximum in the true-stress train curve may occur in a number of polymers. 

As the rank of can be at most G — 1, as evident from Equation (20), this represents the maximum number of canonical variates which can be computed, consistently with what was already discussed in the case of two classes, where only a single latent variable can be extracted. It must be stressed here that, whatever the number of categories involved, LDA requires inversion of the pooled (within-groups) covariance matrix S in order for this matrix to be invertible, the total number of training samples should be at least equal to the number of variables, otherwise its determinant is zero and no inverse exists. There are authors who indicate an even larger ratio of the number of samples to the number of variables ( 3) to obtain a meaningful solution. Therefore, these conditions pose a strict limitation to the kind of problems where LDA can be applied, or suggest the need of some form of variable selection/feature reduction prior to the classification analysis.
