Training Met the Objectives

Let s say that our training objectives have been determined. And that the who, what, where, and how of training have been determined and, we have just completed our first training class. We are finished, right Wrong. [Pg.102]

Even though who, what, where, and how, along with successful completion of a training class, are behind us, we are not finished. We now need to determine if the training truly met the training objectives. In other words, did this training take us where we wanted to go Ideally, the answer is a resounding YES however, this needs to be definitively determined. Some useful techniques can be employed to determine if our objectives have been met. [Pg.102]

If at least part of the training objectives were to develop a course to address problems experienced in the field, and follow-up testing revealed continued problems in the field even though course graduates demonstrated proficiency on tests, then the problem still exists. Maybe the course [Pg.102]

In this example, if the objective of our instrument training session was accomplished, then our inspectors should no longer observe improper airmonitoring instrumentation during future inspections. If inspections continue to reveal deficiencies in air-monitoring techniques, then the training needs to be adjusted. [Pg.103]
