PNIPAAm blocks, have been prepared via surface-initiated ATRP onto the pore surfaces of track-etched PET membranes with pore diameters of 790 and 1,900 nm (Figure 5.20) [60]. The functional porous membrane will be relevant for the development of new functional (smart) modules, such as lab-on-a-chip systems for bio- and medicine technologies.
