The reactor shown in Rgure 10-3 is perhaps the easiest of the three nonideal reactors to understand. This is because the flow is very well characterized, i.e., the velocity is known as a function of the radius. The velocity is maximum at r = 0, the center of the reactor. If the fluid is Newtonian, the velocity at r = 0 is twice the average velocity, the velocity at the wall is zero, and the velocity profile is parabolic. [Pg.385]
