Two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) is one of the most useful ways to quantify TPA in optical materials competing with nonlinear absorption. While nonlinear transmission yields absolute quantities describing TPA, TPEF requires knowledge of the collection efficiency if absolute data must be acquired.
