Efficient Mechanical Power Train The 797 power train includes a new torque converter with lockup clutch that delivers high mechanical efficiency. The new automatic-shift transmission features seven speeds forward and one speed reverse. Electronic clutch pressure control (ECPC) technology smoothes shifts, reduces wear, and increases reliability. Large clutch discs give the transmission high torque capacity and extend transmission life. The transmission and torque converter enable the truck to maintain good speed up grades and to reach a top speed of 40 mph (64 km/h). 

Fluid friction refers to air, water, or other types of fluid providing the resistance to movement between two objects. One example of fluid friction would be the resistance of air to an airplane flying. Another example would be the torque converter in an automatic transmission the transmission fluid provides the power to drive the automobile through jfriction with the impeller blades. 

Hydrod3Tiamic power transmissions— also called tuibotransmissions or hydrokinetic drives—are hydraulic converters. These converters change the speed and torque between input and output shafts steplessly and automatically. The energy is transmitted by a fluid as medium power transmissions fundamentally differ from all other power transmissions. This applies in particular to all mechanical power transmissions.
