Tooth grinding

Sleep walking, sleep talking, and tooth grinding are three of the so-called parasomnias, movement (or motor) behaviours that occur unexpectedly during sleep. When we recall that the answer to so many of our questions has been brain activation in sleep, it will not... 

Gerber and Lund (1998) reviewed the literature and located 127 case reports of SSRI-induced abnormal movements. These included akathisia (agitation with hyperactivity), tardive dyskinesia, parkinsonism, dystonia (muscle spasms), bruxism (tooth grinding), and related disorders. They found many additional case reports from the drug manufacturers, including 516 cases of parkinsonism and 76 cases of tardive dyskinesia. The term tardive dyskinesia is usually reserved for cases that are irreversible. 

Adverse effects are reiated to excessive CNS and cardiovascuiar system stimuiation (simiiar to amphetamines). Others are due to excess serotonin - jaw-cienching, tooth-grinding... 

Ambient grinding involves the comminution of scrap rubber, including tires, at ambient temperatures, typically in a toothed-wheel mill, bench grinder, shear mill, or two-roll miU, to give particles... 

In stirrer types acting according to the rotor/stator principle, the rotor is a turbine stirrer (Fig. 1.6), or a toothed ring (as implemented in the Ultra-Turrax from IKA Janke Kunkel [227], Fig. 1.7), which is surrounded by a baffle ring as stator. In this way extremely high shear forces are realized in a small space ( wet grinding ).
