Drug interactions with tizanidine hydrochloride include acetaminophen, alcohol, and oral contraceptives. [Pg.1289]

For enhanced CNS effects with alcohol with other muscle relaxants, see benzodiazepines , (p.53), meprobamate , (p.68), and tizanidine , (p.l287). [Pg.70]

The sedative effects of tizanidine and other sedative drugs and alcohol are additive. Increased bradycardia might occur with dig-oxin. It is unclear whether tizanidine prolongs the QT interval in humans. No interaction occurs with paracetamol (acetaminophen). [Pg.1287]

One of the most eommon adverse efTects of tizanidine is somnolenee or drowsiness (oeeurring in up to 50% of patients ) for whieh reason the manufaeturers warn about the possibility of inereased sedation with other sedative drugs, and alcohol. In addition to additive sedative effeets, alcohol increased the AUC of tizanidine by about 20% and its maximum level by 15%, which was associated with an increase in adverse effects of tizanidine. Patients should be warned. [Pg.1287]
