Time Dependence of Sessile Droplet Contact Angle

TIME DEPENDENCE OF SESSILE DROPLET CONTACT ANGLE [Pg.526]

Water droplet volume was found to decrease at about the same rate on both surfaces. Since both Teflon and nylon will not adsorb a significant amount of water within the time frame of the experiment, the main reason for the decrease of water droplet volume can be attributed to the evaporation of water. The change in water droplet volume occurs a little more rapidly for larger water droplets since there is a larger gas/liquid interface for evaporation to take place. [Pg.527]
