At least 14 genera and almost 50 species have been reported to have CAM. The most exhaustively studied genus is Tillandsia (Fig. 1.16) with at least 35 species shown to have CAM (Coutinho, 1969 Kluge et al., 1973 McWilliams, 1970 Medina, 1974 Medina et al., 1977). [Pg.15]
