Thirteen OSHA-Regulated Carcinogens

Without establishing PELs, OSHA promulgated standards in 1974 to regulate the industrial use of the following 13 ehemieals identified as potential oeeupational eareinogens  [Pg.344]

Exposures of workers to these 13 ehemieals are to be eontrolled through the required use of engineering eontrols, work praetiees, and personal proteetive equipment, ineluding respirators. OSEIA respirator requirements for these ehemieals are provided in Appendix E (page 351). See 29 CFR 1910.1003 - 1910.1016 for more speeifie details of these requirements. [Pg.344]


Secondly (in the mid-nineteen seventies), specific OSHA standards, for the safe handling of thirteen human and animal carcinogens. Included in the list is dichloro-benzidine, a key raw material for the manufacture of diarylide pigments, regulated imder 29 CFR 1910.1007. [Pg.94]
