Heterocyclic structures acting as thiophilic sorbents for the separation of immunoglobulins have also been described. In 1988 Porath and Oscarsson157 described several structures involving thiophilic electron-donor-acceptor mechanism. Pyridyl sulfide and phenyl sulfide molecules were attached to agarose beads and then used for the separation of plasma proteins. All these ligands adsorbed preferably immunoglobulins. [Pg.584]
