3 Thickness determination of unreinforced and jointed reinforced concrete slab 

In special cases where a URCP slab is to be designed, the concrete slab thickness is determined by the following equation (Highways Agency 2006b)  

In case there is a tied shoulder or 1 m edge strip of thickness 150 mm, the concrete slab thickness, in both cases, is reduced and determined by the following equation
